Review of Taking Chance (2009) by Astrid T — 13 Mar 2009
It makes a huge difference if the anonymus fallen soldier suddenly has a face. I do not think - as one reviewer here - that the movie over-exaggerates the common person's respect for our troops. Having worked for an airline I can only confirm the stories depicted.
My fellow agents and I always tried to do whatever we could to make travel for our troops (not just the escorts) easier. Flight Attendants and Pilots will often go out of their way to recognize the troops on board.
And a fallen soldier is always treated with the utmost respect, as is his escort. The movie was extremely realistic and very emotionally touching. Especially if you have a family member in service, as I do.
But even if you don't - this movie will move you!
