Review of Taking Chance (2009) by Alan O — 05 Feb 2010
A sad, touching true story about a decorated soldier escorting a marine killed in action, back home to his family.
Whilst sentimental, the overall message of this film is a very positive one.
The dedication and care given to the deceased when they are shipped back from Iraq is beyond anything I imagined and while this film has no opinion in terms of why the fight in Iraq continues, this film does not change my feelings on my own anti-war stance. This in essence is a simple and honourable story about a young man who died in action, and the dedication and care the military take in transporting him home. A must watch film.
