Review of Takers (2010) by P H — 05 Mar 2011
Takers actually turns out to be a relatively ok heist movie. I was a little worried because the first 30 minutes are a complete mess. Its confusing and hard to follow who exactly is who - but once the standard introduction of characters is complete, Takers takes off at a reasonable and relatively quick pace.
There's really nothing here that is over the top or ground breaking. Its a fairly familiar heist movie with some surprised, but nothing you havent seen before. With that being said, once the movie gets moving - its a non-stop action, chase, robbery thriller that borrows from the heist films that came before it.
T.I. and Chris Brown were actually pretty good from an acting point of view.
If you're looking for a mildly entertaining action heist picture, this could fit the bill. Its at least worth a rent. If only the film-maker can go back and re-do the first 30 minutes, it would be better.
