Review of Take This Waltz (2011) by Natasa R — 23 Sep 2012
Sarah Polley's 'Take This Waltz' is brutal, heartwarming, and raw when it comes to the themes of marriage and infidelity. Michelle Williams give yet another trailblazing performance as Margot, a simple woman who is conflicted between her loving husband, Lou, and a neighbor, Daniel, that she feels a intensely strong connection to.
Seth Rogen just continues to impress me as an actor proving that he doesn't have to rely on comedy, but that he can do serious roles as well; even if he can come off as goofy in those roles too. Though at the end of the film, I felt unsatisfied.
Maybe it's because of the route the character chose, or just due to it being a bolder choice. But overall, a solid film.
