Michelle Wiillams is one of the best actresses around but this was a really disappointing film, falling into the trap that a number of US indies makes in asserting that kookiness defines high art.

Another issue is the vague physical resemblance the two loves of her life have to one another - on a sleepy Saturday evening, I found myself not caring one way or the other as to whom she would end up with while a late night visit to a swimming pool (presumably not Bletchley's) is just baffling.

A small thumbs up for the Canadian contexts and locations - Toronto's hip Portuguese quarter looks ravishing.
