The film is fatally compromised by woman director Sarah Polley's decision to cast GAY/bisexual actor Luke Kirby as the man who lures MIchelle Williams away from her husband. The gay-friendly critics RT unfortunately relies upon give this film a high rating, naturally.
But the "steamy" scenes are actually quite unconvincing, like Rock Hudson and whatever unlucky woman he was paired with. c'mon. Bad idea. For those with a taste for GBLT films, Luke Kirby was in Mambo Italiano.
Let him be a star in those Gay Film Festival type roles, but don't try to pawn him off on us.
