Intense and traumatic, this provocative look at one man's (Michael Shannon) obsession with a doomsday scenario draws the audience in in a way that creates a tension so thick that I can think of no cinematic equivalent.
"Take Shelter" is one of this generation's genuine masterpieces and serves as a revelation for those unfamiliar with the incredible work of Kentucky native Michael Shannon. A perfect film in every respect.
