Review of Take Shelter (2011) by Colm M — 24 Oct 2013

I can see why this might blow hot or cold depending on the viewer. Ultimately its a movie about a fathers love and desire to protect his family and how important it is to stick together no matter what comes.

Its unsettling throughout and beautifully shot but its the magnificent final scene that tugs at the heart strings and its the scene that reveals this allegorical tale is much more than what it first seems.

There's a touch of magic it that makes for a brilliant ending.
