Review of Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War (2004) by Matt W — 18 Nov 2007
Impressive production values and relentless action are the plus points in a film which absolutely drowns in sentimentality. It's also a viciously one-sided represetation of a highly complex period of history.
Perhaps one to watch if you like war movies with bone shattering violence, as that is the order of business here. However, if you are interested in balanced accounts of history, or if excessive melodrama makes you feel nauseous, avoid.
