Review of Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War (2004) by Mike D — 24 Nov 2007
Taegukgi is the first movie I have ever heard of that takes place during the Korean War. It is the story of two brothers that are forcefully drafted into the South Korean army.
It is a movie about family and trust, cowardice and heroism, blood and guts. This movie has everything that a war movie should. It is a tear-jerker for the ladies and a blood bath for the boys. It is gruesome on the level of Saving Private Ryan, just so you know what you are getting into.
I totally recommend this movie. You should especially see it if you don't know anything about the Korean war. Watch it with a map...and maybe some tissues.
