Review of Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War (2004) by Ned W — 04 Jan 2008
Difficult to rate. Some overly sickly melodramatic scenes and extremely badly chosen loud music in the end sequence (should have been sensitive and thoughtful) mar what could have been a much better film.
Excessive Graphic Violence and fairly unrealistic battle scenes, plus some homemade fighter plane vfx are further detractors from a good story at its core. The acting is superb except for the opening sequence, the story is great.
..so - if u can stomach the brains and arms flying around, well worth a watch.
