Review of T2 Trainspotting (2017) by Ian B — 28 Jan 2017
I'm a big fan of Irvine Welsh's books. I was initially disappointed with the original Trainspotting movie but have grown to love it over the years seeing it as a separate entity based on the book. T2 is definitely a separate entity with bits and pieces from Trainspotting and Porno with those being changed for the storyline of the movie. I particularly liked the scene that was missing from the first movie that gives the book its title.
Ewan Bremner stands out in this movie with the best scene being near the start showing how British Summer Time caused him no end of strife. It was also very cool to see it develop that Spud is, in fact, Irvine Welsh.
The movie was emotional for me. I absolutely loved it. Danny Boyle has done a fantastic job of this sequel. Hoping he may have a future hand in some future Welsh projects. I would love to see his take on Juice Terry in A Decent Ride, and developing Begbie's character after life in prison in The Blade Artist.
