Review of T2 Trainspotting (2017) by Dave H — 01 Dec 2018
Whereas Trainspotting 1 was a cultural phenomenon of the mid 90s, a film with grit, witt and determination hellbent on taking its audience on a hedonistic ride of downright depravity (aswell as the worst toilet in scotland), T2 fails to offer the same cultural prowess for 2010s audiences interms of impact, however, thats not to say its a bad movie, if not a tad late, however it all feels alot softer with the heroin subpolt removed entirely for one with revolves around the sex industry and blackmail, however, what it does capture beautifully is the scope of the malemind and how men feel approaching their middle years, and the problems upon which these beautiful characters face some 20 + years later.
