Review of Synecdoche, New York (2008) by Betty S — 31 May 2010
For the duration of the film's closing half, I was getting ready to say that: while I quite like what the film stands for (namely, its outside-the-box creativity), something about the specific combination of elements here simply makes it difficult for me to connect.
But then the final 15 minutes or so came and the connection reestablished itself. Rather strongly. All in all, this is a uniquely woven tunnel. One that leads to a very interesting corner of Human Condition, Connecticut.
