Review of Synecdoche, New York (2008) by Corey C — 11 Jun 2012
So brilliant it's almost intimidating to discuss, as I don't want to betray my assumed intellectualism by merely scratching at the surface of this work. An extraordinary film about artistic expression, disappointment, a longing for truth, and, well, death.
Is that pretentious? Very well then, but it's also one of the best movies of the year, as one might expect from Charlie Kaufman, whose direction is praiseworthy and whose script is masterful. See it.
Now.
