Review of Synecdoche, New York (2008) by Sammy K — 29 Dec 2012
"I will be dying and so will you, and so will everyone here. That's what I want to explore. We're all hurtling towards death, yet here we are for the moment, alive. Each of us knowing we're going to die, each of us secretly believing we won't" -Caden (Philip Seymour Hoffman).
This movie is solely about a man's life slowly deteriorating into a pile of ashes while experiencing the problems and wretchedness of the world. As his life slowly passes by, however, he learns to drop the tragedies and problems he had dealt with in the past. Synecdoche, New York is an instant classic, which drastically changes the way you view life. 5/5 Stars.
