Review of Synecdoche, New York (2008) by Devastator9 . — 05 Apr 2011
Strikingly similar to "Being John Malkovich", "Synecdoche New York" is an autobiographical, dreamily distorted, and sometimes dragging film. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is great. The movie starts out so captivating and dwindles into a sad and bleak ending, much like the wonder of youth fading as one enters old age and then death.
Will take a second watch to fully decide how I feel about this one, all I know for now is that it is highly recommended to people who are fans of "Adaptation", "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", and "Being John Malkovich".
