Review of Swiss Army Man (2016) by Mustafa S. Z — 13 Jul 2016
When I first decided I wanted to be a filmmaker, one of the first things I wanted so badly to achieve was becoming such a good storyteller that I'd be able to create moments in which the viewer is confusedly crying both of sadness and happiness at once.
This is the first movie that has ever done that to me. Swiss Army Man is a juvenile yet deep meditation on love, loneliness, and mental illness. It does require more-than-average disbelief suspension and imagination jogging.
However, if you come with a curious heart and open mind this movie will blow your bung off.
