Review of Swiss Army Man (2016) by Trevor K — 20 Jul 2017
This movie is astounding, I've never seen anything like it which is a good thing. Like this movie or not at least it's different. The beginning made me think "Oh, it's one of those kinda movies" but after the first part progresses a bit it becomes amazing.
The movie is a mix of many genres, it's funny and sad. And they do the mixing of this in a way where it comes off as genuine, not like in a romantic comedy where it's at the sad part, or in an action movie where the hero fails.
This sadness and comedy are so great because it's relatable, I can't relate to superman or a guy who is in a rollercoaster of a relationship and can't get used to it. Plus the actors performances were outstanding which propelled the genuine feeling even further.
If this movie had actors who were only ok, this movie would've been try-hard and dumb, but thankfully Paul Dano and Danielle Radcliffe were really great. plus the ending was funny but made me think as well, which I like.
