Review of Swiss Army Man (2016) by Alistair L — 26 Sep 2016
I knew this film was weird before I went to see it ... sometimes weird just doesn't work out, but here it does. It's a buddy movie of sorts, Paul Dano's character is stranded on a desert Island unsuccessfully trying to end it all, when up washes Daniel Radcliffe - he's dead, but starts emitting such strong farts, that he can be used as Jet Ski to escape the island.
There is much more purile humour on the way, as he 'comes to life' and helps Paul Dano to get home? It's surreal at times and it ends creepily, with a did it actually happen?? Had Paul Dano simply lost his cast away marbles.
Or is it simply that it took a dead man to redeem a living one? Anyway, no matter what you read or I write, you simply just have go see for yourself!! The directors "Daniels" Scheinert and Kwan, will be interesting ones to watch, graduates of pop videos and short films, this is their first full feature.
