Review of Swimming with Sharks (1994) by Stephen R — 25 Jul 2007
This film is a very different look at Hollywood - not from the eye of a successful actor or director but from the point of view of a wanna-be producer working as a lowly assistant. It is also a film that is a must see for anyone who has ever thought their boss treated them unfairly.
The movie follows Guy, the assistant to one of the most powerful men at the movie studio, and the hell he is put through everyday by his sadistic boss Buddy Ackerman.
The movie is shown all in flashbacks from the night Guy finally snaps and pulls a gun on Buddy, forcing him to remember all he has put Guy through.
Kevin Spacey is incredible as the evil boss, who seems to embody every bad trait that all my bosses have had all rolled into one.
