Why on earth is this film classified a comedy? Torture, pervasive humiliation, and bombastic foul language quickly wear thin as comedy vehicles. In the bonus material that accompanies the DVD, the writers indicate that this is very close to real life in Hollywood.
They were obviously proud of the buzz it stirred within the film industry. Pretty sick. The lone redeeming feature is Spacey's acting. Don't both with this.
