Review of Swimming with Sharks (1994) by Pure Rock Fury — 20 Jul 2008

Someone compared this to "Office Space" but after viewing "Swimming With Sharks", I can say that it's not quite as good. Kevin Spacey once again divides my attention between my thinking he's truly great and also feeling like I just will not ever like him at all.

Billed as a dark comedy, this movie does the whole tragicomedy thing well enough but I can't help but feel like some things were overdone. It's not the the events of the movie aren't believable because I would contend that humans are absolutely capable of being so worthy of ire.

I just kind of thought that if this is what one person goes through to make it in the movie business, enjoying movies as a spectator may become less enjoyable. I have mixed feelings, but it was decent overall.
