Review of Swimming with Sharks (1994) by Lester F — 30 Mar 2013
I really liked this movie, great all around. It's dark comedy done right; superb dialogue and well acted. If you don't think about what's behind each scene in the movie, it may seem good but nothing special because it is not dramatic in it's themes, but if you dig a little deeper it is a commentary work life and what's important in life. No part of this movie is boring, and although Frank Whaley was good but Kevin Spacey was exceptional at playing his character and outshined him.
I loved the ending, it isn't a happy one but it fits. It makes sense to the story and it a very 'real world' sort of ending, versus a fantasy. What the movie spoke to me was the question 'What's important in life?' and the priorities are important.
