Review of Swimming Pool (2003) by Lauren V — 08 Mar 2008
A slow paced drama/mystery based on an older female writer who travels to her publicists summer house in France while he is at work so she can write her next crime fiction novel. While she is there, the publicists daughter comes and starts bringing a different guy home each night and the writer (played by Charlotte Rampling) starts to incorporate the daughter into the story. When one of the men goes missing, the writer must find out what has happened in order to add more to her story and ends up being entangled in a murder mystery herself.
Unless you are desperate to see lots of topless scenes, or like slow moving dramas, I wouldn't suggest this, but I thought it was pleasant. The acting was well done, as was the music. Could have done without the nude scene of the old chick though.
