Others have remarked on this film's vicously brilliant writing, gorgeous soundtrack and the stellar performances by curtis and lancaster--all valid. but what stays with me most from this film is its hauntingly beautiful images of new york.
this is what film noir is all about--the darkness surrounding the bright lights in the big cities.
