Review of Sweet Smell of Success (1957) by Les E — 14 Mar 2009
Perhaps the snappiest script ever. The two leads are conspiring sleaze balls attempting to break up a young couple in love. The editing is sharp which adds to the directness of the story. It is one of the rare occasions Curtis plays a beaten down character but he does it well however the heartless Lancaster who makes everyone dance to his tune shines in the grimy atmosphere.
