This biting and engrossing movie took Hollywood/movie critics by storm; audiences HATED it b/c No one expected Tony Curtis and Burt Lancaster to play vicious, selfish and evil men that - had he been around - made Gordon Gekko look like Mr.
Rogers. No one gets off easily in this fast-paced, fast-talking, must-see movie. Had the movie ended the way I thought it should have, I would have give it 5 stars, but I guess Odets and Lehman didn't want to go there.
