Review of Sweet Smell of Success (1957) by Allan C — 13 Apr 2012
Wow! Great film noir with some of the most nasty characters to ever populate the genre. Curtis is a smarmy press agent willing to do anything to win the favor the influential columnist Lancaster. Terrific jazz score by Elmer Bernstein and gorgeously filmed New York City nightlife by James Wong Howe, with a very sharp script by Clifford Odets and Ernest Lehamn.
