Review of Sweet Bird of Youth (1962) by Christian M — 14 Jul 2008
A dark, yet pulse pounding and hungry performance by Newman. You can see the texture of failure, guilt and loss in every word he speaks. SOMEHOW, it manages to be completely engaging, entertaining and fulfilling.
It may be the crisp white shirt, the blue eyes or the convertible Cadillac with a burned out Hollywood Starlet in the back seat. SEE IT.
