Review of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) by Stephanie M — 08 May 2013
Sweeney Todd is a magnificent Musical Horror film from Director Tim Burton and collaborators Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. The plot of this film is about a man name Benjamin Barker now named Sweeney Todd who has been released from prison after getting wrongly imprisoned by Judge Turpin and he returns to his home in London where he also opens a barber shop and has plans to kill Judge Turpin and his assistant Beadle Bamford and he also befirends Mrs.
Lovett who sells the worse pies in London and soon the two team up together and as Todd kills every customer and Mrs. Lovett uses the bodies to make the meat pies Sweeney Todd attempts to get ready for his revenge against Judge Turpin.
I love this movie a lot and to be honest it was fantastic and I do enjoy this fantastic Musical Horror film that delivers a lot of goodies and the film itself is fantastic. I remember I saw this movie on a local channel when I was a grade six student and I watched it and I was satisfied and impressed with the whole movie and the movie totally has some bright and magnificent ideas thanks to Director Tim Burton.
What's great about Sweeney Todd is that the film is full of impressive and excellent musical songs and the songs in the film are good enough to listen to and its great enough also to see Johnny Depp sing in the movie and I love the vocals of the casts from Johnny Depp to Alan Rickman and the musical songs in the film are very dark and sometimes romantic and a bit different during times and I just adore the songs that were used in this movie and I love all of the songs in this film and this has the best Musical songs and styles ever that beat the musical styles of the High School Musical series(Which were very cheesy and too shallow).
What I also like about Sweeney Todd is that the whole film is also full of kills that are extremely gory, shocking, repulsive, violent and disgusting as well and I love all of the kills in this film and I love how the kills were well used during the singing parts of Johnny Depp.
The film itself is totally full of kills that are seriously unflinching, repulsive, extremely gory, shocking and violent at the same time and I also love the concept of people's body parts being used on the pies and people eat the pies that they don't know is covered with human skin and the concept of this film is so sick and I love it a lot and the kills are just nasty and gross enough to watch in this film and all of the kills like throats being slashed repeatedly is super repulsive and shocking and very gory at the same time and the hot kettle beating sequence is extreme on the brutality.
And the finale of the film is one of the goriest and the bloodiest scenes throughout the whole film and I overall love the kills in this movie a lot. Now the acting is great the casts did a really magnificent job with their work in the movie.
Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter deliver one of the freakiest performances in the film and these two weirdos did a fantastic job with their work on the movie a lot. Alan Rickman and Timothy Spall did a magnificent job with their work on the film as the antagonists of the movie and Sacha Baron Cohen did an impressive job with his work on this movie and I overall love the performances of the casts in this film even their vocals in the movie is great at the exact same time.
Director Tim Burton did a magnificent job with his directing on this movie and I love how he worked on this Musical Horror film really well and I love this movie as much as I enjoyed his work on Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and his other films as well.
Overall Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street gets a 10/10 because this is an impressive musical Horror film full of repulsive and nasty kills plus the movie also has a lot of magnificent songs throughout the whole movie that are worth listening to.
