Don't let the fact this is a musical fool you - this is a horror film. Granted, it is more in the "Phantom of the Opera" vein. Depp gives another Oscar performance; Burton's direction is one of his best to date.
Only complaint is some of the lyrics are too fast and hard to understand, but it doesn't mar the story at all.
