Review of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) by Marsha K — 16 Nov 2012
This is a rare picture, that has a very low likelihood to be re-made. I think I could put it like this. In the universe called Film, in between a land of strangeness, gruesomeness and Nightmare before Christmas and a land of sound and music is a place where two of the smallest of streams flow together and form a closed clattering cascade. It falls for nearly two hours, but just centimeters: there is no epicness involved. A very true collaboration of darkness and shine, that's what flows and falls there. And from it fall two little mice, destined to ground somewhere. They're called Sweeney and Nellie. Do you get the picture?
Credits of the story:
Tim Burton for his fantasy, without which there would be no waterfall at all.
Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter for playing such wonderful mice.
