Review of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (1982) by Courtney W — 29 Apr 2008
Lansbury delivered so well at developing the "crazy factor" that Bonham Carter lacked in the recent edition. Hearn's portrayal of Sweeney appears much more tragic than Depp's revenge-driven character.
Amusing of course, but I must give Tim Burton's edition the overall nod due to the choice of scenes deleted in order to move the story along more smoothly.
