Review of S.W.A.T.: Firefight (2011) by Ray B — 23 Nov 2011
Stupid plot and dumb storyline, but for some reason, SWAT firefight is an enjoyable film. Just don't expect anything smart from it. It also falls short on establishing why the team sucks so much at the beginning.
I mean, they mess up the main hostage negotiation that sets the plot off, but if that hadn't been such an unorthodox situation, everything would've been fine. They may be misfits at the beginning of the movie, but they're still pretty elite.
The rest of the movie makes up for this shortcoming, but there was a point where, having read the plot, I was like, "okay...so what's the problem? They're kinda insubordinate, but they're still a pretty damn good SWAT team.
Why does the SWAT commander have to fix them so badly?" From there, the plot's stupid and the camera angles are stupid, but I enjoyed this film for a reason I can't explain...I guess it was just entertaining.
Check it out if you liked the first SWAT.
