Review of S.W.A.T. (2003) by Lyda M — 15 Jun 2009
"Sometimes doing the right thing, ain't doing the right thing." Jim Street (Colin Farrell) and Brian Gamble (Jeremy Renner) are a you-watch-my-back-i-watch-yours kind of a partner in the S.
W.A.T. However, they had a parting of the ways when they were demoted due to a "disobeyance of a direct order" on the part of Brian Gamble. Gamble left while Street stayed. Enter Sgt. Dan "Hondo" Harrelson (Samuel L.
Jackson), an old school S.W.A.T., who was assigned to form a new S.W.A.T. team and train them. Jim Street, Chris Sanchez (Michelle Rodriguez) and Deacon "Deke" Kaye (LL Cool J) are among the members of the new S.
W.A.T. team handpicked by Hondo himself. With Alex Montel (Olivier Martinez), an international fugitive, offering 100 million dollars to whoever'll help him escape, this team has a lot in their hands.
The film is spontaneous, good job in the editing there. Interesting story. Good Casting. Samuel L. Jackson is the epitome of cool. Nobody does it as cool as him. Michelle Rodriguez rocks! Magnificent acting by Jeremy Renner as a miscreant.
I just loathed him in this movie. I think he's hot too. Rock and roll soundtrack. Directed by Clark Johnson.
