An incredible movie which draws on film noir imagery, cultural motifs, and repetition to enhance the emotions of the film. Not only does it have a moving storyline of love and tragedy, but it is integral to the evolution of Chinese film.
5 stars, no question about it. One of the masterpieces of Chinese film.
