Review of Suspiria (1977) by Courtenay B — 20 Apr 2009
I watched this movie to see what the big deal was with Dario Argento, after hearing him referred to as one of the greatest horror directors of all time. I TOTALLY get it now. This movie may not be heavy on plot, but it more than makes up for it in cinematography, lighting, and music.
The whole package ends up feeling like spending two hours in a disorienting and beautiful nightmare. Highly original and deeply captivating.
