Review of Suspiria (1977) by Lafe B — 13 Aug 2009
In-your-face horror thriller that combines Argento's earlier preoccupation with mystery and flashbacks with the style of what was to be developed in his even later films, a sense of style that is certainly not for all tastes.
If you can look past the occasionally over-the-top scenes, over-production and essentially stupid plot, the movie is superbly staged, and the climax is genuinely scary.
