Review of Suspiria (1977) by Chris Q — 30 Dec 2009
There are some pretty creepy moments in this film. The bright hues and gorgeous photography are definitely not a usual thing in the 1970s horror genre, but this film is as dazzling as it is startling. There are quite a few moments of unbearable tension in this film.
It's not so unbearable that it's unwatchable, but there the suspense level is quite high. Plus, it is highly unusual that a horror film delivers the class of a 1950s costume epic without watering down the scare tactics.
This is a very classic horror film that deserves the praise it gets. Rumor has it that it's being remade. That is something it does not deserve.
