Review of Suspiria (1977) by Trevor C — 11 Jun 2010
For a Argento film it really isn't that scary, but more or less is a creepy build up towards an ending that is just extremely sudden. my favorite aspect of this movie was definitely the cinematography and the lighting - it was loaded with bright colors and lights; each room, somewhat like Masque of the Red Death, has its own color theme (red, green, blue, pink, etc.
), and the mixture of the soundtrack and the images works together perfectly - it's almost like a bad acid trip. really great film, but despite what many people say, I don't believe its Dario Argento's best film.
