Bold. Highly dramatic sets, lighting, and music paint this intense portrait of a girl and her growing awareness of an evil. The visuals, score, and editing make for an incisive experience. The film positively shines at its most intense moments.
The only technical aspect of the film that could have been improved is the sound, whose sharply jarring mixing and editing could have been refined to a less eardrum murdering level. Complete with psychological dread and ballet, Suspiria makes for a great companion piece to Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan.
