Review of Suspiria (1977) by Kyle L — 30 Sep 2012

Tense, suspenceful and yet it's dark, eerie and scary Suspiria is one of Dario Argento's best films since Phenomena and the second installment in the Three Mothers trilogy Inferno and Deep Red.

This is a great film and I seriously had a good time watching this movie and I seriously like the style of this film so far. The plot of this film is about an American Ballet Dancer name Suzy Banyon who is studying in Germany in some prestigious school called the Tans Academy but soon she discovered that the school is controlled by witches in which after she solves the clues of the missing students who disappeared in the school and Suzy Banyon must escape before she becomes the witches' next victim.

I seriously had a good time watching this movie so far. There are lots of memorable and impressive moments I've seen in the film and everything about Suspiria is great and this movie is seriously a big surprise in the Horror and Giallo genre and I did like the ideas of this movie so far.

What's great about Suspiria is that the film has a really colored cinematography and I seriously like the cinematography of this film and the colored cinematography really makes the film look good and the colored cinematography manages to create the film's gothic tone and I did like the idea so far.

What I also like about Suspiria is that the film is also full of suspenceful and scary scenes. The scene where the first lady gets attacked by the unknown assailant before being stabbed to death is a really suspenceful scene and that scene seriously got me and I was proud with that scene so far.

I also like the bat scene where Suzy gets attacked by a bat and that scene also freaked me out and that scene also freaked me out so far while the other scares are also good in the movie so far. What I also like about Suspiria is that the film is full of eerie and atmospheric atmosphere.

The atmosphere in this movie is just eerie and atmospheric as well. There are lots of eerie and atmospheric parts in the film that I enjoyed watching. The climax scene was really eerie and the atmosphere is really build well in that scene so far even in most of the death scenes the atmosphere is really atmospheric and most of the time it's eerie as well and the scene where the blind guy with the dog also creates an eerie atmosphere when he's walking in some street before getting killed by his dog and that scene also creates an eerie atmosphere and so far the atmosphere is seriously build well in this movie.

What I also like about this film is that the movie also has an impressive soundtrack and the soundtrack of the film is just creepy, eerie and suspenceful as well. And the eerie soundtrack really creates the film's brooding and eerie atmosphere so far and I like the idea of how Goblin handles they're song in Argento's movies so far and it was just great for one reason and I think Suspiria has the best soundtrack due to it's dark and eerie feel compared to Dario Argento's Phenomena mainly because the soundtrack in Phenomena is not really dark but it's ok so far.

What I also like about Suspiria is that the film is also full of impressive and gory kills. All of the death scenes are just gruesome in this film and the flow of the blood in this movie is just great even the color of the blood is great as well.

There are lots of impressive death scenes in this movie. The gruesome opening scene is a really gory and tense death scene and I did like that scene so far. The scene where the blind guy gets killed by getting eaten by his own dog is just gross and nasty as well and it reminds me of the dog scene in Lucio Fulci's The Beyond and that was a great death scene so far.

While the scene where Suzy's friend gets killed by the unknown assailant is just graphic and the way Suzy's friend gets her throat sliced is just graphic and gross as well and I did like that scene so far.

Now the acting is great the performances of the casts including the beautiful Jessica Harper is impressive and the casts seriously handled they're performances in the movie so far oh and Jessica Harper is really beautiful in this movie and I think she's the prettiest lead character in Dario Argento's Suspiria since Jennifer Connelly in Dario Argento's Phenomena so far.

Director Dario Argento did a good job with his work with this movie and I seriously like this movie along with Phenomena and his other films like Deep Red and Inferno it's just too bad that he went down the hill in the 21st century when his newest and latest films received bad reviews from critics like the last installment in the Three Mothers Trilogy Mother Of Tears and Giallo I just hope he doesn't fail again when he makes another film in the 21st Century so far.

Overall Suspiria gets a 10/10 because this film has a lot of atmosphere with some gruesome kills and suspenceful and scary scenes with the gore flowing well in the movie so far.
