Review of Suspiria (1977) by Horrific R — 08 Jan 2013
When I first saw this film, I can admit that I hated it. But to be fair, I was in the wrong mindset and I wasn't watching it in the best setting. This second time around, I enjoyed it. The gore is very cheesey, the blood looks like some terrible red paint, and the soundtrack can be intrusive at times.
However, after I got used to it I found it to be very complimentary and it worked for this film. It really adds to the suspense. This film had me squinting my eyes in fear of what might happen more than most modern films do.
The visuals in this movie are outstanding, and that really goes without saying. All the colors and designs really make this film unique. I have not talked of the acting or the plot yet, but I will not.
I assure you the movie is good in these regards as well. There are some little things about this film that I think are overdone, but overall this film is great.
