Review of Suspiria (1977) by Thomas P — 27 Jan 2014
What Pink Floyd did with The Wall for boys nightmares, Suspiria does for girls nightmares - this is a bloody, technicolor, blue and red light mystery slasher flick with witches at a dance academy.
Venture to say that these movies are gender specific, and the comparison is negligible.
And the maggots, slashing, and constant bloodletting keep this from being in ANY way.
Simply girlie.
Both have a hallucinogenic trippy quality, and a creepy uncomfortableness.
They also have a.
WHAT the WHAT confusion that you just have to let the ride take you wherever its going next.
Disturbing, frenetic, ugly, loud, eloquent, brutal and creepy beautiful -.
Nightmare Before Christmas meets My Little Pony at Michael Myers Halloween Dance Academy.
Yes. It all fits...lol.
It doesnt pull you in emotionally or as depressingly affect you like The Wall, but it is quite the black light car-wreck spectacle.
Be careful assuming this wont be too gory or will be too frilly.
You ve been warned..
3 of 5 technicolor open wounds.
