Review of Suspicion (1941) by Cory M — 17 Mar 2008
Another great Hitchcock film. It has a slow build to get to where the story is really going, but it's held together by the strong direction and performances from Grant and Fontaine. I liked seeing Grant play against his type.
I disliked the ending, and from what I've read, they should have stuck to the ending of the original novel. The entire movie builds and builds to an unsatisfactory conclusion that really makes the film seem, not worth it. It doesn't ruin it, but it could have been so much more rewarding.
