Review of Suspicion (1941) by Joshua B — 07 Apr 2010
This Alfred Hitchcock ("Psycho", "North By Northwest") suspense film is okay. The pacing is slow, which was typical of the time. This is a film about a young couple, but there is money troubles because the husband doesn't work. He does odd things to make money such as selling family heirlooms and taking out loans against insurance policies. He also inquires a local mystery author about methods of killing people. Needless to say alot of these occurrences make him look pretty suspicious.
This film stars Cary Grant ("North By Northwest") and Joan Fontaine ("Rebecca").
Oveall a good film but this is no where near as good as Hitchcock's other great films. 3/5 stars. (4/7/10).
