Review of Suspicion (1941) by Leena L — 25 Dec 2010
Not the most exiting Hitchcock I have seen but the Oscar for Fontaine was well deserved. Apparently Good Old Hitch had another, more intriguing ending in mind, more in line with the book, but as IMDB puts it: The studio (RKO) wouldn't allow Cary Grant to play a murderer, and also the Motion Picture Production Code of 1930 (aka the Hays Code) mandated that a murderer could not get away with it in the end.
Sigh.
