Review of Suspect Zero (2004) by Alex K — 11 Sep 2004

Saw "Suspect Zero" last night, the first movie I've seen in quite a while. In fact, I can't even remember the last movie I saw, even though it wasn't all that long ago. Guess that means it was a really good one....

Anyway, I read the reviews about "Zero" and saw that most critics did not think too highly of it, but I decided to give it a chance because I love Ben Kingsley and also the genre. I'm sure that by now, everyone knows its few acclaimed highs and its longer list of flaws. After seeing it, I can't completely disagree with what people have said about it, but I don't think it's as bad as some claim. It's not worthy of Oscar status, but it keeps the viewer entertained and despite some holes, is worthy of seeing. Of course, all of us have seen better, but "Zero" is nonetheless interesting and remotely compelling. Overall, I'm glad I saw it, but would only recommend it to hardcore Kingsley or serial-killer-thriller-fanatics.
