Review of Survival of the Dead (2010) by Elizabeth W — 15 May 2010
Watched this already on xbox live. Eveyone that knows me can say how much I love the Dead series. Although this is my least favorite of all 6 films I still enjoyed it. Each movie in the dead series has a social commentary underlining what's going on during the times, and Survival is no different.
The small army group from Diary of the Dead find themselves on island of the east coast. The townsfolk are in a war amoungst themselves on if they should kill their dead friends and family after they've turned, or keep them alive in wait for a cure.
The film has a western feel, which I believe in a true zombie apocolypse would happen. The acting is bad and the east coast accents of the townsfolk sound like they're in ireland, but Romeo's vision of the dead is cannon and I'll watch and enjoy any zombie film he churns out.
If you liked any of the previous films you'll enjoy this addition to Romeros Dead series.
